MEET OUR PASTORS

It is, indeed, a pleasure to introduce to you the men whom God has chosen to serve as leaders within Abundant Life Christian Center. These individuals have, after thorough examination, been found to be qualified for their respective positions of leadership by meeting the criteria established in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. They continually commit themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word and to serving the body of believers at ALCC. You are encouraged to lift them and their families up in prayer asking God to provide wisdom, strength, protection, and the knowledge of His Word in order that they may continue to fulfill their high calling.

SENIOR PASTOR

Barney Carbajal, III

Pastor Barney Carbajal, III was born and raised in Belen, New Mexico and is a 1968 graduate of Belen High School. He received his Bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM.

While serving as a music educator for the Belen Schools, Pastor Barney received Jesus into his heart in 1976. He served as both a youth pastor and associate pastor with the Word of Life church in Belen. As the founding pastor, he has been associated with Abundant Life Christian Center since its inception in 1982. He sums up his goal for ALCC in the following verses of Scripture: "So everywhere we go we talk about Christ to all who will listen, warning them and teaching them as well as we know how. We want to be able to present each one to God, perfect because of what Christ has done for each of them. 29 This is my work, and I can do it only because Christ's mighty energy is at work within me." (TLB) Colossians 1:23-29 He lists Psalm 139:23-24 as his personal scripture.

Pastor Barney and his wife, Sandi, are the parents of three children: Leah Archuleta (Husband, Blayne and daughter, Laynah; sons, Ryston and Trayven), Barney IV (wife, Halona [Cordova] and son, Cyrus; daughters Teyle and Keyera) and Anna R. Davison (husband, Joseph and son, Stetsyn; daughter, Kaidynce).

ELDERS

Larry Sanchez

Born in Coco Solito, Panama, Larry C. Sanchez is a 1965 graduate of Belen High School. He continued with his education at the University of Arizona and received his undergraduate degree in 1975. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1972 and first came to Abundant Life Christian Center in 1983. Larry was ordained as an elder in 1988 and says his personal goal for ALCC is to "see the lost set free in Christ, to see the free use our liberty to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God and the growth of His Kingdom here on earth as willing vessels fit for the Master's use".
Galatians 2:20, Psalm 119:137-144 and Philippians 3:12-14 are the Scriptures Larry believes to be the ones needed for this current day and age.
Larry is married to the former Marilyn O. Miller. They are the parents of two children, Myles L. Sanchez and Leslie E. Russel (husband, Andrew and daughter, Kendal).

Randy Eakin  (Picture coming soon)

Randy Eakin lists his hometown as Morenci, Arizona but moved to Cliff, New Mexico where he graduated from Cliff High School in 1972. Randy was born again in 1982, the same year he began attending Abundant Life Christian Center. His ordination as an elder came about in 1995. His desire for ALCC is to see all the believers in one mind and one accord and to do the will of the Father. Luke 11:11 is the passage that Randy refers to as his personal Scripture. It was this passage that brought him to his knees before the Lord asking for salvation.                                                              Randy is married to the former Julie Perea and is the father of four children - Marilea, Joshua, Christopher, and Jessica.
