Life Group Meetings are an informal gathering in which we can share, learn and experience the Word of God in a more intimate setting while enjoying the fellowship of one another.

A youth-led group (Petra) meets Fridays at 7pm at ALCC. They are studying through books in the New Testament. Read below to see a sample of what is coming from this group. Please contact the church office for more information (505-864-3743).

Ephesians 6:11-17 Paul explains the armor of God: belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with peace, helmet of salvation, sword of of the Spirit and "above all, taking the shield of faith...". In Greece and other cultures soldiers would form a line with their shields, either overlapping them or hinging theirs into the soldier's next to them. In this wall of shields the soldiers would stand, protecting each other and guarding almost absolutely against missiles of the enemy. When we read Ephesians we usually get a picture of one soldier decked out in his awesome armor ready to take on the full force of the enemy. But that's never how it is. Paul says this over and over, "...Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel," Philippians 1:27. "...being like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind." Philippians 2:2. Then in verse 5 "let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus." We were never meant to fight alone. Every army is made of many soldiers. We are in the Kingdom of God. Kingdom being, many people ruled by one King. Even just by Jesus praying "Kingdom" He implied that we are many together. So don't try to fight the battles of life alone, form a band-of-brothers who you can fight for and who will fight for you. Stay strong, because in all, we fight for each other. Never alone!  (Jeremiah S.)
